    Uti?
Warghghhghgh it hurts so much, I think I have a UTI and there is no way I'm getting to sleep with this pain. I'm drinking as much water as possible but what else can I do?

I've taken two paracetamol and it's not helping at all.

Should I go to the doctor tomorrow? I'd rather not but I don't want a kidney infection.

Yes go to your GP tomorrow - who can prescribe you something stronger. Also drink Cranberry juice = that drink is particularly good for when you have water/UTI infections.

Right now, unless you already have cranberry juice/those sachet things, not much but keep plodding on with the water etc. You can take ibuprofen as well and have paracetamol every 4 hours (max 4 doses in 24 hours though) if needed. If you're still feeling terrible in the morning, off to the GP.

Someone once told me this feels "like wearing tin foil pants".

It sounds painful, you have my sympathy...

You need an antibiotic so definately go to your Dr. If you've not had it long then it's most likely just in the cystitus phase but you really don't want the infection to spread to your kidneys. Hope this helps.

Just a point, cystitis only affects the bladder, a UTI can occur and affect anywhere throughout the Urinary Tract.

But yes, OP, if you're still in trouble in the morning go to the GP. I've had many UTIs and it spread to my kidneys once and that hurt like **** - best avoided if possible. It's treated easily enough with antibiotics.

A warm laptop on my belly appears to be calming things down.

Really don't want to go on antibiotics, scared of side effects lol. Sigh. Will see how things go.

As for tin foil pants? I can't relate to that, but it does feel like peeing out tin foil lol.

    Hmmm - anti biotics or damaged bladder/kidneys - you choose! . .I know which option I would go for . . .

    Amen to that.

Thanks to a kidney infection, one of mine doesn't work so good anymore lol - bear that in mind before you opt against antibiotics. If you want scarring on your kidney(s), an abcess, or any other symptom of an infection etc etc - take the damned pills lol.

Hot water bottle! And do go to the doctors, they will probably just give you a three day course of antibiotics and it will be gone and you will be happy.

How long do you normally need to take antibiotics for this and are there rubbish side effects?

It's still here so I'm gonna go to docs tomo.
