Don't ask why, but this has been prying on my mind for sometime.
What's the past tense this.

I've heard both text and texted used, refering to past tense.

Let me know

I ask myself this self-same question. The past tense, I believe, is 'texted'. Whenever I write the word (by hand), that is how I spell it. Quite often though, when I speak, I say 'text'.
Texted.
'Text' just sounds wrong.

Texted sounds wrong to me, "Rochelle totally texted me last night." OR "Rochelle totally text me last night, seeing if I wanted to go see Star Trek with her."

Texted.

Though if I'm talking quickly, it sometimes comes out as text.
