Effect of exercise on electrolytes

Ok I can't seem to get this in my head....
This is what I think happens:
1. Muscles working = heat = sweat = loss in fluid and sodium/potassium = decreased sodium and potassium conc
2. Muscles working = lactic acid = metabolic acidosis = Potassium shifts out of cells = increased potassium plasma conc.

So you wouldn't get hyperalaemia or hypokalaemia....as your losing plasma K+ and gaining K+???

Also have to research how sports drinks aid in the body maintain normal levels... :woo:

Ahhh its just confusing me
