To the posters above, they say the whole cycle can be somewhat irregular for the first 3-4 months, but with some people it can really take up to a year for the body to figure itself out. Also, it is perfectly normal for your withdrawal bleeds to be slightly irregular. I've been on the pill for a year and my periods have sometimes come 4 days into the placebo or 1 day into the placebo, or even 2 days before I started the placebo (even though my natural periods have always been super on time).
But I wonder if any of the previous posters had their issues resolved? It would be great to know what the cause was. See, I have had absolutely no issues for an entire year, but this month I am suddenly bleeding all month, more after sex. I've read up on the symptoms and all signs point to "cervical erosion" (aka ectropion), which seems harmless but is just very annoying (imagine being on a mild period 365 days a year!!), and can be fixed either with surgery and/or by switching/getting off the pill. I am devastated, since this pill has been working so well for me from the very beginning - no side effects or anything.
The boyfriend recommends switching to Mirena, but it sounds a little too scary to me.
Would really love to know opinions. I'll be travelling a lot this month, so no doctors for me yet. I know I will wait one more month, then if the problem continues, I'll get off the pill for a few weeks to see if that fixes the problem.
