If you log into LSE for you, then you can access the 09/10 form. I applied today, so I hope it went through okay.

Does it have a good social atmosphere?
It is what you make it.... there are a lot of people who complain that people stay in their rooms, but if you want to get out and be social then there's always going to be people who want to do the same! I have a large group of friends who I cook dinner with every night and we go out together (not really to clubs but to restaurants, movies, ice skating etc) but that's because none of us are really that bothered about clubs! There is a large group who do go clubbing though, and I honestly don't know why people say its not a social hall, everyone is more than friendly and always willing to hang out.

It was opened in 2006, does it looked like it opened in 06 or does it look like it opened in '86?
are the kitchens and the common rooms good?
    enough wardroom space?
    Thanks
It definitely looks brand new! My friends from other halls always joke that I live in a hotel, it is luxury compared to most halls! Everything is fresh and new, its lovely!
The kitchens are ok, it depends on who you are sharing with really. I know some kitchens that are spotless and others that always seem to have dishes everywhere. If you have a meeting in the 1st week and establish who you're sharing with and what everyone expects from each other its not hard to keep a tidy kitchen if everyone pulls their weight.
Wardrobe space is the only bad point! The wardrobes are standard size but inside they are split in half so one half is shelves and 2 drawers at the bottom, and the other half is a rail. I was used to having a big rail at home so it was a bit of a reduction for me! But miraculously, I manage to fit everything in.

    Hope that helps!

i'm leaning towards passfield. can anyone give me the pros anc cons of this hall?
Passfield is a really nice building, probably the nicest aesthetically/modernity. It was the most recently refurbished so it's really new looking.

First years expect to share.. but honestly.. the rooms are huge, and no one I know has seemed to have a problem yet. Bathrooms are immaculate. Do not let a lack of ensuite scare you.. for any of the halls. My floor has about 9 people on it and we have 3 toilets and three showers.. it's never an issue.

Dinner is included in your rent, and everyone basically goes. It's a small hall so you know everyone/all eat together.

This year is pretty quiet... there are groups of freshers/post grads that go out often, but a lot of people that stay in/hang out in the hall/continuously do work.

We do have a bar but it's suffering... as, from what I'm told, lots of the hall bars.

There's a kitchen on each floor of the main building / 2 in the annexes. They're a nice size with good equipment.. I just wish there was an oven. The only thing lacking is that the fridge's can be tight.

We have a large courtyard/garden thing that is nice when it's warm out.

The neighborhood is perfect. It's really quiet but we're so close to everyone. We have great tube connections at Euston and Russell Square. We're about 15-20 mins from school, 15 mins from Oxford street, 15 from Camden.. etc. Quite central.

Lemme know if you have any other questions.

    Just applied:

    1. High Holborn
    2. Northumberland
    3. Grosvenor House - because I didn't like any of the others enough to warrant a place on here. I'd rather just be assigned in that case.

It says that 1st Year applicants should get a response "within 28 days." Does this mean we'll know where we'll be living (grades permitting) within four weeks? I do rather hope so...

That's what I'm hoping for! I think I've read on here about some people getting their accommodation offers in March, so, hopefully!

LSE Applicant/Student ID means our UCAS no. or our name?
