    AEA and STEP HELP
I am going into A levels next year and want to do everything possible for me to get in to a good uni and study maths related degree. I am doing maths mechanics and further maths. Yet i heard about AEA and STEP and am now confused. Is this something everyone takes to get in the top unis? Do i need it? Where would i sit the paper? I am generally confused and would appreciate some help.

AEA is something only some schools offer so universities aren't meant to take it into consideration as there are a lot of schools that don't offer it, so it would be unfair. It is still worthwhile doing though if you want something extra on your CV - best to talk to your school about it

    Re: AEA and STEP HELP
The good unis will require a deeper understanding in maths before joining the university. The AEA is a bit easier than STEP... If you want to go to cambridge you have to do STEP...they will include it in your offer... I think you can get the A* grade in maths next year, so they might ask for that. You can sit the paper in ur college... but only some colleges offer you support with AEA and STEP.
