Yes, there are plenty of people who protest mindlessly. However, there are an even larger group of people who mindlessly accept the status quo. Why criticize one and not the other?

it appears to me that the general public have a pre-formed idea of protesters as "students too eager to mobilise at the first sign of protest". i'm not saying this is't true, but i AM saying that this heavily devalues the impact of any protest. obviuosly february was too large to be given that label (and it was still ignored), but i think the best way to show discomfort with a war is to get someone who actually knows their stuff, and stick them on newsnight for genuine political debate!

the thing blair did with the women, where they all did the slow sarcastic clap at the end probably reinforced the governments position, because of the image those people had. if it had been 10 middle-eged blokes in siuts saying the same things, it would have carried more weight, and been more effective - the lesson here? get protesters a PR agent, and start being a bit culturally aware, and image concious!

and you don't think being SHOT violates this?

you try and get near to the vehicle, you get shot.
draw a similarity to
you say hi, how u doin?, you get a threesome with swedish minders

a little extreme, perhaps??

how is attempting to get near the presidents vehicle, ie. possibly compromising and posing a massive risk to security, protesting? the security operatives will see this as an attempt on the presidents life and will fire as instructed. this is not protesting in the decent sense of the word. neither is damaging or mis-treating state property.

and your thoughts on the request for the armoured-vehicle-mounted mini-gun....?

let me guess - " i'm goin to keep pressing the trigger like this, and if you get in the way, it's your fault"?

Any real terrorist wouldn't target the motorcade anyway, there are much better ways. Although with terrorists willing to die it could be worth the risk.

what request?

come on. there are things you can and cant do. attempting to attack or get close to the president will be seen, quite rightly, as a potential attempt on his life. you will be shot by British and American operatives. i cant see how their can be any complaints. protesting is welcomed, anarchy is not.

its irrelevant who you are or what you intend. if some daft socialist decides that hes going to run in front of the motorcade and egg the presidents car, he will be executed within seconds.

yep! one such 'better way' suggested below:

shove a stick of dynamite up the queens ass (she probably won't notice anyway, too busy with the HIGHLY important task of, well... waving), with a fuse timed for just when she shakes bush' hand

wow! regicide and idioticide! 2 for the price of 1!

Please don't say that, anarchy does not mean chaos it's often confused. They mean very different things.
