A female dominated career?

Well is there? I always through it would be the other way round, or atleast 50/50 but the new guardian league tables suggest different.

Pretty much all uni's have around 60% female ratio.

LSE 60.7, Cam 60.2, Notts 64.4, etc.

With these kinda ratio's even Dean Gaffney would be a sex god.

You link didn't work :frown: But yeah it seems everywhere I applied to had more females than males :eek: But this may just be something to do with the fact that girls in general do better academically than boys...
probably... i've seen far more girls at open days...which SUCKS...

guys will lub lub lub it though...

psssssssh...i may have to make a visit to the Maths department :wink:

I think a valid point to make is that when looking into the profession this certaintly isn't the case, loads of women leave the profession to become mothers!! I think you will find a longlitudinal study would show a disportionate amount of men to women

If you count cooking/looking after children/cleaning etc...... then females win :biggrin: . Probably a maid?

Definitely more female law students, however in the profession there remains more male lawyers. This apparently is due to women leaving to start families and not returning to the legal profession, rather than any kind of discrimination at the trainee intake/promotion to partnership level. However this is in the process of changing and the ratio is becoming more even each year.

What i also find interesting is that at LSE mature students are only 12%.

With LSE being reknowned for post grads, i was expecting far more
