What are your favourite friendly mythical creatures and why?

Simple question really.

I've got loads :biggrin:

Faires because they are cute, mischevous and have random beneficial effects when in the vicinity - like being purveyors of good luck;
Angels because they are big, beautiful and lovely and are very good at killing devils;
Unicorns, because if you annoy them or try to cast a spell against them (which won't work because they'll resist it with their magic aura) they will give you a look that simply says: "And what the hell are you?"
Cloud giants, because they can STAMP on things;
Gold dragons because they are very good at keeping the population of nutty knights in check;
Phoenixes because even fire genies cannot catch them;
Elves because they are much better at looking after the world than we are;
Enchantresses, because they are lovely and magical;
Pegasi, because they give elves something to fly on the back of.

The BFG.

Because he's big, he's friendly and he's a giant.
The Soup Dragon from the Clangers because dragons would probably rather eat cremated people than soup
