    I think I'm bi-polar...
The title of this thread is extreme, but I've done a lot of research and it runs in my family.

For the past 2 months I've been having hallucinations in my sleep.
It started off just once a week, now it's progressed to every couple of nights.
It's nothing horrific, but if anyone's had hallucinations in their sleep they can be pretty horrible.
As well as this, my moods have been incredibly erratic. I'm generally one of those people that is pretty much happy and positive all the time, but recently I've been less so and feeling pretty empty.
I was depressed last October/November, but it subsided. I thought I'd become better.
However now, I'm feeling like I was before but it's become more intense and happens more so in bursts rather than constant.
I still get immensely happy, but I've started to become angry and irritated.
I'm not an angry person, so this is totally unlike me and all these things are making me think that I could be bi-polar.
This is exactly how my dad and friend have described how it feels and I'm really worried.

I'm sorry this probably reads really random because my english has become awful xD

They are called dreams. They are perfectly natural, and everybody gets them some times.

Yeah that can happen in your dreams- being in the room you are asleep in, in your dream.

Go to your doctor and they can tell you a little more. Also possibly keep a diary of when your up and downs moods are just to help monitor it a bit.

As far as I am aware, that's not a symptom of Bipolar. Bipolar is a disorder when you feel, in real life, extremely high but then later extremely low. I think that I am, but I can't know until I get myself diagnosed.

So - if you're worried - get yourself diagnosed!

Wow, you should write diagnostic manuals.

There are several types; it is generally presented through extreme highs and lows, but there are other side effects such as hallucinations, sleep loss, memory loss, etc.

Don't be so judgmental. You're most likely right, but then again, if she's so concerned, why not have a check up? If she's fine, then she'll feel better; if she's not, then she didn't let it just go. Right?

I don't think it is adolescence.
I know it sounds like I would say that, but it's not.

"Hallucinations while asleep" =/= psychotic symptoms.

    Just to reiterate to everyone,

    Re: I think I'm bi-polar...
I highly doubt you are bipolar. What you are describing is most likely to be hormonal - manic and depressive episodes are more likely to happen over weeks or months, not in the course of a day or two. You're more likely to be depressed.

And your hallucinations are called dreams. You can't have a hallucination while you are asleep, hallucinations imply being conscious and awake at the time.
