Saying goodbye multiple times

HAs anyone ever noticed that when people leave family, or friends they continually say goodbye, as if they are having a great battle of goodbyes???

Does anyone know why people go over the top in these situations, and why they arent even aware of it?! :rolleyes: Random question i know :biggrin:

No idea. I'm not sure why. :confused:
But I have noticed it.
Maybe because you don't want to offend them by taking the parting too lightly? Or maybe they are waiting to catch the train away or bus, and they've said their goodbyes, but the train still hasn't come and there's this awkward waiting, so to fill it in everyone's like 'Goodbye' 'see you later' again.
It's weird, I always feel stupid saying it more than once, I'm like 'Yeah, see ya'. But the thing I HATE is when people do this: 'Bye bye bye bye bye bye' on the phone. So annoying!
