Yup, thats the big problem all we international applicants have, the whole "week before" thing.
I've bought my tickets already, and if I don't get an invitation, at least I'll have a nice time in London. Although, if your grades and reference are all really good, than I think that they're practically obligatory to call you in.
But thats just what I heard.

I knew an applicant for PPP last year, who applied to Pembroke and had a phone interview, and they read out the short article to him, after which he had to answer. I would think that it's much easier to be there in person, and do the whole procedure.

hmmm...
I know exactly what you mean. Perhaps if you buy the ticket, and (god forbid!) unfortunately (and highly unlikely) don't get an interview, you can go in to denial and show up at Oxford anyway.

Lol, it makes you wonder how many people have actually done something like that.
Re: The Oxford Applicants Thread (For Entry in 2010)
I want my interview/rejection already. My confidence has been shattered with my Bristol rejection (although I didn't want to go!). Was I crazy thinking Oxford would accept me? My beautiful Oxford? Why don't you tell me what you're thinking? If you must break my heart... just do it now! Don't drag it out!

xD I didn't do the HAT, but my twin did. lD I'm a Biology applicant, although I was considering doing the BMAT when I was choosing courses.
*has just printed off a tree and a half of notes on the human genome project for Interview prep* lD
@Nambi - Dx What did you apply for at Bristol? I feel so awful about my subject entry requirements, the only 2 AAA are Oxford and UCL, although Manchester and St. Andrews will probably want it too.

Though I would be gutted if I didn't get AAA, I still don't mind unis asking for AAB or less...Bristol should also be AAB btw.

I definitely didn't go on facebook and search everyone...at all...
And by "I", I mean that I'm Cam's girlfriend and I accidentally didn't log into my own account. I'm nartandyou. Even more !

Hmm...the main concern for me would be money issue again...I'm not only international student to Oxford, I'm also one in Balkans. So it's even more complicated as I have already got tickets home. That's why I'm looking into the salient pros and cons which separate personal interview/phone/Skype
Re: The Oxford Applicants Thread (For Entry in 2010)
My postcard was returned to me in the post this morning, saying they'd recieved my written work! Very fast, I only sent it off at 4:30pm on Thursday! (special delivery though).

I applied for Animal Behaviour and Welfare. I had more than the entry requirements (I am a mature student) and my PS was heavy on animal behaviour so it has really shocked me, plus the tutor for the course told me they were undersubscribed! I have an offer from Bath for Biology, and love Bath, but they are so into their molecules- whereas my favourite area is zoology. They don't have many modules at all on zoology, least of all ethology (my ultimate fave).
I'm in LOVE with Oxford though, really hope I get there... sigh.

There might not be availability from Toronto to London booking a flight a week before...not to mention that it will cost thousands and thousands of dollars SO I'm booking it now. Ah!
let's hope destiny doesnt think i'm being assumptive...
hey, as you said, if i dont get an interview...i'll have a nice little vacation in england lol.. (to wallow in my sadness, pain, and disappointment.. )

Thats the spirit!
If you're gonna' go to Ox personally for interviews, than I'm thinking you'll have to notify them, but all in good time...
Re: The Oxford Applicants Thread (For Entry in 2010)
Hey ppl, do you all feel like it is worthy to book flight and accomodation even if you're not sure you'll be interviewed? If yes, should I book both, or just one of them? Thanks

You will be accommodated for free by your college if you get interviewed.
