Central coordinators monitor the process to ensure each applicant is treated fairly and the best students are accepted regardless of college choice.
Well maybe I was just being overly cautious then, I just didn't want to take the risk. If it's completely fair in reallocation then there shouldn't be a problem.

Same here - I change my mind daily between the two but currently leaning towards EP. It's supposed to be easy enough to transfer between them anyway so if I change my mind, hopefully I'll be able to switch. I'm thinking of St Johns, Wadham or Balliol. Booked open day at Wadham (the one I know the least about) and will be staying overnight. (May consider New, probably not.)

Thats my number one at the moment, due to them saying they "seriously consider" applicants with mixed science/arts A-levels for Biochemistry. Whether that would make any difference I have no idea, though I presume different colleges have different takes on admissions.
We have a current Corpus biochemist lurking around here somewhere. She might pop in, if you're lucky...

Yes, very true! You're so ahead with it all, I have to say. I'm avoiding the looking-at-specific-colleges business for as long as possible, it's so daunting. I'll definitely be going to the subject open day, though.

Well, looking at colleges and unis is a way of avoiding doing more productive things whilst still being able to at least pretend to be doing something slightly productive. There was a college chooser thing at school which helped but it was a few years out of date and there were articles here. I didn't really look at the official stuff much. I need to get it all sorted early anyway because when it gets to the time I actually need to do it, I won't get round to it and will be distracted doing other things.

If you ever want any advice about the application process, feel free to PM me. Also, if you post your personal statement in the appropriate forum once you've done a draft, I can review it for you

That'd be great, I'll definitely keep that in mind, thanks!

Am considering applying to Economics and Management. I just need to decide if I would actually be happy studying at Oxford, and obviously it is dependent on my AS levels

Do you have a particular reason in mind why you wouldn't enjoy studying at Oxford?

Surely it's a personal response? Some people don't "click" with certain university environments, which is as true of any university as it is of Oxford. Plus the Oxford course might not be to their tastes.
I think visiting on an Open Day and speaking to current students is the best way to determine whether you would enjoy studying in a particular university, not simply Oxford.
