Because it is only in very very very rare cases that sibling would want to have sex with each other. So I don't think they'd be doing that much harm.

Yes, it should be nothing to do with the state.

The point about it being illegal to prevent disabled children being born is not good enough, for me at least. If you're going to go to those lengths, then you might as well test the genes of every single couple who get together, and disallow sex until the state has confirmed that they are genealogically distinct enough to have healthy children. Siblings can have healthy children, and non-siblings can have severely disabled children. A black and white law can not govern a grey area. But again, the government doesn't seem to know that, do they?

You only think it's wrong because the vast majority of us have a natural sense that it's repellant and immoral. I don't know the science behind this but presumably it's an instinct geared towards preventing abnormalities. In what sense, other than the possibility of children with deformities, is it objectively wrong? it's sex between two consenting people. You (and I, before some imbecile on this thread starts telling me to go f*** my brother if I want to) find it a very disturbing idea - but if someone doesn't find it disgusting, then surely they have the right to do it. After all, they're not forcing me to partake in incest.

We've grown up in a society that doesn't accept it however, and I'm not sure a lot of people would be willing to accept it. But, as we've seen with gay relationships and the like, people might gradually accept it if it was legalised. I think it's pretty common to see people openly admit they're gay, pursuing gay relationships, getting married and whatnot. It's normal. :dontknow:

Maybe incest will be the same in the future?

I believe consenting adults should have the human right to do any sexual activity they like involving other human adults. They should not have the right to purposely have an unhealthy child
