Topic: The different ways in which organisms use ATP.

I've already got glycolysis in respiration and the light independent reactions in photo. and obviously, muscle contraction, exercise, active transport, production and growth. but what else that i can go into detail with? as i have only gone into detail with respiration and photosynthesis. ty guys

-protein synthesis, production of enzymes etc
-electron transport chain for ATP production

Aahh i get you. But my biology teacher specifically said not to write about how ATP is produced. As you get no marks for that. Erm does protein synthesis use ATP?

Well I guess so. ATP is the main source of energy for the body so most things use it! I agree though, this question is much harder than it looks because its so hard to pick out specific examples

How does homeostatis use ATP? And i've never even heard of bioluminescence

Homeostasis requires active transport to maintain solute potential in the kidney for example for the reabsorbtion of water.
Bioluminescence isn't common so don't worry about it too much. Its accepted on the OCR syllabus as its used in things such as the angler fish to catch prey etc.

Talked about Fe²⁺ / Mg²⁺ ions at the centre of Hb / chlorophyll molecules - you could mention stuff about co-ordinate bonding with ligands?

Zn²⁺ / Cu²⁺ ions at the centre of some complexes. (Google them).

HCO₃^- ions in the blood buffering system.

Don't think you'll need more than that tbh

That makes a lot of sense, actually, as ATP production is not the same as how ATP is used in biology

Have you talked about the phosphorylation stage of Glycolysis, where ATP is required?
