What do body pump classes usually consist of? We have them at my gym but I have never been, bit worried it's gonna be mega hard!

Well, I'm 6ft1, I'm quite big built. Broad shoulders, hips etc. I have fairly muscley legs, I danced for about 10 years and since then I have to say I'm not in the best of shape. My legs don't bother me too much because they're relatively muscular (When I tense my skin is mostly solid) except for my inner thighs. I know you can't really target areas, but is there anything I can do to improve the state of my inner thighs? I've been lunging quite a lot recently and I have seen a noticeable change in my outside thighs but not inner. Any advice would be brilliant!

Its basicly just lifting weights. I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago never having done resistance training before, was fine on the day then woke up the next day in agony, was in constant pain for about 3 days! Went back the next week and was fine. Make sure you eat protein after.

I went last Tuesday, and again this tuesday just gone. The first time....oh lord, the pain for the next 4 days was ridiculous!! Satisfying in a way though. No pain this week yet. May need to up the weights!

Body pump is amazing! I made the mistake of doing a class and then going straight to work for a night shift - I could barely lift my arm to use a pen I was aching that much!!

I dont do gymns but I do have some habits that hard to break:
when i wake up early morning
    1. I do some stretching in my bed for about 10 mins and curl ups 10x or 20x.
    2. then drink 3glasses of water.

    I do some water therapy.

Before I eat my meal, I drink 2 or 3 glasses of water then hit my food after that.

Can someone settle an argument for me please...

4 of the girls i live with at uni go to curves 3 times a week..
I go to a different gym on occassion when i can be bothered :p: (I prefer running outdoors and going spinning, i only go to the gym sometimes to do something different and go a bit crazy with the weights)

Anyway - at curves they're all doing like crappy 5kgs and 10kgs on the weights machines because the fitness ladies are telling them that lots of reps at a lower weight is the way forward...
Now, when i go to the gym.. i do the total opposite - i like to feel the burn to feel like it's working.. so i do heavy weights and less reps..

I'm certain i'm seeing quicker results than them as well.. I just fail to see how they're burning 600calories in 30mins like the girls claim they are  and how 5kgs 50 times or whatever they're doing on that crappy leg machine that makes u look like you're giving birth is the way forward - which is why i refuse to join curves!

Am i just being a total bitch about their fitness or is curves right?!

That is a load of crap - I am not an expert by any means, but I am pretty confident that something like 3 lots of 8 reps of a high weight is far better than 50 reps of a low weight. When you're doing weights it should hurt. This woman infuriated me at the gym the other day - she did about 60 reps of a machine in a minute, and every time she did a rep she let the weights slam down with a massive crash - I fail to see how that was working her muscles at all! But I am sure one of the more expert fitness freaks on here will give you a better answer than me

Kinda answer your own question there my dear, your not being a bitch but you are very right.

Curves is designed to keep fatties fat and make workouts 'easy' so the fatties come back under the illusion of fitness.

Does anyone have a get-my-condition-back routine for rope jumping?

I haven't done it in months, so my conditon is back to square 0 at the moment. I know that it will absolutely kill me but I'm excited

When doing a work out at the gym is it best to do resistance before or after cardio? Because I have heard reasons for both from many different people, some people are adamant you should do it first and then other people say always do it last, so I'm really confused! So to avoid confusion I've been doing cardio before AND after...

Cardio should most deffinatly be done after weights, when done the other way around the weights become pointless.

I used to do either 15 minutes a day 7 days a week, or 30 minutes a day 5 times a week.. Once I could easily do 1000 skips, I stopped counting so I have no idea how much I was actually able to do in the end. That was up to 6 months ago.. Any tips are welcome

Why does it become pointless? I mean what is the theory behind doing it that way? (I'm not disagreeing with you I am just wondering how it works!) So would it make sense to do warm up - weights - cardio?
