cardiff languages

i visited cardiff on wednesday and i wasn't particularly impressed with the german aspect! the guy i spoke to wasn't the nicest and didn't seem to be fussed about encouraging people to study german! anyone know anything else about german, or other languages for that matter, at cardiff?
Cardiff has a reasonably good language school to be honest with you. I did a little bit with them on my work experience (though I was based in the History department for obvious reasons!). The german department is the most famous, they tend to be better for the romance languages and Welsh too. French and Italian are pretty strong. Hope that helps you a little bit.

hay .. not sure if you'll ever read this.. but .. oh..
i visited cardiff after id applied for it D'oh// oh.was going to do history and spanish joint honours there. The dilemma i faced was that it has great rep, all the students said it was great .. but i ithought that the departments i saw were dull, the tutor was boring and generally not very encouraging or dynamic or Interesting at all. but then the city was fantastic and perfect and great. i think maybe they just dont care about selling themselves to potential students. :frown:
