Chinese postman algorithm, Travelling salesperson algorithm, Tour improvement algorithm....
Im revising D1 currently and Im just thinking to myself, if you were going to create one of these algorithms atleast give it something 'cool' as a name lol!

Would you rather they were just all named after whoever came up with them? The names are more memorable, and they make it more interesting. Most parts of maths are full of strange names for things; these aren't that bad, to be honest.

Just looking at one Wikipedia article, I can see 'friendly' numbers, 'collosally abundant' numbers, 'frugal' numbers, 'achilles' numbers...

That's not fair!!!...we don't get funky names like that...our algorithms are called after who came up with them....like Kruskal's algorithm...Prim's algorithm....I suppose the Route Inspection Problem is different...and Critical Path Analysis...but hardly as funky as Chinese postman...

Lol yeah OCR includes the ones you mentioned too, but i decided to leave those out to give more emthasis on the odd names ones

Because those things were mathematical folklore and besides, the names are descriptive.

Close but not quite. Chinese postman has to walk down every street (edge), Salesman needs to attend every house (node).
