Second Life - The Virtual Alternate Life

I heard about this on the news and I thought it was hilarious how seriously people took it but it doesn't seem any worse than WOW. So I downloaded it because I want to see what the fuss is about but I can't get past the registration. Once I get to Paypal to confirm my identity it says "Registration Unavailable. Try again or contact support." No one else plays it in my house and I've tried doing this via another IP address too, anyone know how to get round it?

Anyway, if there are any players on TSR is it worth the time or is it just as fun as watching paint dry?

I tried going on this once and it crashed my laptop (which to be fair doesn't take much). I've always been intrigued by it though...

Ive encountered some odd situations on SL,

its not worth it, unless ur into the whole Virtual world communication shadang
sims is much better

I hear it's better than real life.
