Leicester or Surrey??

physiology with pharmacology at Leicester, biochemistry with pharmacology at surrey. I have visited the uni of surrey and got the impression as someone had mentioned at the uni forum that it was such a cold place- the atmosphere of the campus. However they have an industrial placement which can be taken in Australia, USA or Japan...

But Leicester is a better uni in general, plus I have not heard any negative opinions either about the uni or the students, unlike the uni of surrey...

The thing is I will not be able to visit Leicester by the UCAS deadline which is this Saturday...

any current students? any advice?

You can do a year in industry at Leicester; infact they encourage it within Biological sciences. I'm sure you can do a year abroad too, but not entirely sure where.

Leicester's great, they have great student support services, the new library is amaaaaazing, and the nightlife at the union caters to everyone.

how does it cater to everyone? Not saying that doesn't, I'm just curious as to how. Would it cater to me: an avid heavy metal and hard rock fan who loves live music? =P

Yes, they have live bands playing - but if that's not extreme enough for you, Mosh and Retribution (clubs) certainly will. They have many different nights, so there's an 80s night, 70s night, dance music, 90s music, indie, cheese, etc, and the bigger nights have up to 4 rooms open, all playing different music.

I think that Leicester is a great uni and can't wait to get started, but how about asking this same question in the Surrey forum as well? Or the forum for your subject? You might get more objective answers.
