Default Aspire at Oxford

Hi all

I am a pupil mentor and currently working with a very bright year 10 girl who has ambitions to go to Oxbridge. When I was at secondary school, I took part in a programme at Oxford called Aspire, it was an overnight thing with some sample lectures etc to encourage pupils from underrepresented backgrounds to consider Oxford. I can't find any info on it but I was just wondering if anyone knows if it still runs?
It was at Christ Church college when I went if that helps. Any advice appreciated.

Lisa.

I can't say I've heard of it, but then I've only done regularly admissions-y stuff rather than Sutton Trust / Access etc. It may well still exist but under a different name...

I'm currently doing some mentoring through Bright Journals which includes two one-day sessions in Oxford.

The actual thing was nothing to do with mentoring, it was just something I did when I was at school, in about year 10 I think, where I stayed over at Christ Church. It's not Sutton Trust, it quite possibly doesn't even exist anymore, but thanks anyway guys.

I had a shadow student last term. She came for a day on a shadowing programme run by Target Schools

I didn't have any lectures on that day but I showed her round some colleges and she attended two of my tutorials.

That's for Year 12 students and it wasn't overnight. That's the closest thing I can think of though

Ooh ok that sounds interesting, thanks, I will look into that for her. Will be a couple of years off for her yet but no harm in planning ahead!
