Default TSR HoC General Election (Take 2)

The election is now over.... the results are as follows:

Seat Allocation:
Conservative: 19

Lib Dem: 10
Socialist: 7
Labour: 7
Libertarian: 5
Kolya (Independent): 1
01kij114 (Independent): 1

Here is what your new parliament looks like:

THIS IS A SECOND GENERAL ELECTION THREAD, THE FIRST ONE HAD AN ERROR WITH THE POLL, THUS ITS HAVING TO BE RE-RUN

Yes its that time again, you get to chose your next TSR HoC Parliament. you can vote in this thread or ask questions about the manifestos below.

Please remember these parties are not identical to those real life parties, read the manifestos and judge for yourself.

Kolya - Indpendent MP
(Centre-left Libertarian)

Kolya ManifestoI am standing in this election to give a voice to the political philosophy which I believe, and which I hope you also believe, offers us the best chance of enlightened progress in the 21st Century: centre-left libertarianism.
The philosophy I represent focuses on the two issues that you, the individual, find most important: freedom to act as an individual, and responsibility towards the interests of the individual from privately-owned institutions. You take your rightful place as the sole beneficiary of government intervention.
Firstly, I embrace social libertarianism. I would not place any restrictions on your action as long as those actions do not themselves restrict the liberty of others, in accordance with Mill’s Harm Principle. You are free to make the choices for your life that you want to make.
Secondly, I embrace a centrist approach to economics. I recognize the importance of privately-owned means of production, but I would place limits on businesses that prevent them from exploiting the individual and the environment. Businesses will be free to act as they wish, as long as they do not exploit individuals or the commons.
My interests are the interests of you, the individual. This philosophy will inform every decision that I make – every action that I do – and I will not waiver in the face of corporate or collectivist pressure. My philosophy places the modern individual first, and so I hope that you, a modern, enlightened individual, will support me.

TSR Conservative

TSR Conservatives Manifesto

The TSR Conservatives, at our core, support individual rights, liberty and freedom to choose. We believe that a person ought to live their lives free from constant state intervention; the state should not be master but a servant of the individual. We believe that the government should simply act as a safety net rather than interfering in every aspect of life, from CCTV cameras to spiralling taxation. That does not however mean we condone irresponsibility or letting people free-fall. Our Licensing Bill reflects such an attitude in that we encouraged greater freedoms to young adults by letting them drink earlier but emphasising that responsibilities accompany rights.

In an economic recession we cannot afford to spend on free school dinners (Socialist), nationalising the rail network (Lib Dem) or the water network (Labour). These are policies more suited to better times; Britain has 2.1 million people unemployed and to tell ordinary Britons that their NI or income tax is going to rise to pay for those schemes, despite Britain being in the worst economic crisis since the early 1930s, is insulting and heartless.

We will continue to offer viable solutions to the current economic crisis, and alongside this we will introduce initiatives to protect the individual against the worst excesses of state intervention. We will make merit the driving force in our society; anyone with determination and talent should be able to achieve anything. We represent a wide range of conservative, libertarian, centrist and liberal values and beliefs, all with the common.

VOTE CONSERVATIVE

TSR Socialist Party

TSR Socialist Party Manifesto
The TSR Socialists are the only party with a real vision and determination to change the world. As the financial crisis ruins the lives of the people in this country, and others, it is time for that vision to be realised, through the determination of a united people.

In the last parliament we fought to bring vital public services, corrupted by capitalist mismanagement, back into public ownership. We proposed to abolish tuition fees, providing hope to thousands of young people who cannot afford them. We proposed to crack downs on tax-dodgers, who should pay their fair share in society.

At every turn, we have been opposed by the other parties. The Tories have been against all our measures; what did you expect? Labour are more worried about hospital parking fees than actually fixing any real problems, having voted against the nationalisation of the railways and water utilites. They may claim to be “Old Labour”, but their actions speak louder than words. The Lib Dems have sided with the Tories on numerous issues, and even worked with the Tories to create an education bill which would have abolished Child Trust Funds and cut the National Curriculum to virtually nothing. The Monster Raving Loony Party contribute little value to democracy, although it is difficult to know who to take seriously, with the Libertarians are proposing to abolish the minimum wage!

Vote Compassion, Not Greed
Vote Socialist!

TSR Libertarian Party

TSR Libertarian Party Manifesto
If you're mature enough to make your own decisions - Vote Libertarian.

Give Nanny Government the finger - Vote Libertarian.

When we're children our parents make decisions for us because we're not able to make them ourselves. When we grow older we learn to make our own choices and take responsibility for our own mistakes - and get the credit for our own hard work.

So why should Government still boss us around?

A Libertarian vote says "I can make my own decisions, thank you very much."

Ask the Left (Socialists, Labour and Lib Dems) and they'll say they support "freedom". But they don't mean it. Freedom doesn't mean stealing from the "rich". Freedom doesn't mean telling people what they need to do. It doesn't mean enforcing your opinion on everyone else. Freedom means letting people be free to make their own decisions.

Freedom means Libertarianism.

The Libertarians promise to work towards increased freedom for everyone, rich and poor.

The Libertarians promise to oppose nannying and Government meddling in your lives.

The Libertarians promise to fight for your rights to do what you want to do.

The Libertarians promise to treat you like people, not like children.

The Libertarians promise to strive for equality before the law.

Libertarianism

"If you are not free to choose wrongly and irresponsibly, you are not free at all."

"Give Government the finger - Vote Libertarian!"

01kij114 - Independent MP

01kij114 Manifesto
Hi I'm James aka, 01kij114(it is a bit of a mouth full) and I'm standing as an independant candidate, for a seat in the TSR house of commons. I was in the TSR labour party, but left after become disillusioned with the party. During that time, I learnt about how the TSR house of commons works. I served as an labour MP for ten months and served as defence minister for a term. As an independant candidate, I am not restricted by inter-party rivalry or by what Bills I can put forward. I do not wish to solely, project my own views but those TSRer's who feel that the political parties do not represent them.
My political beliefs in brief, are some state nationalisation of public services. The tightening of MP expenses, a tougher stand on law and order. A control of immigration, pro Europe and for greater investment in the NHS.
If you have any concerns, please feel free to PM any time I will get back to you as soon as possible. So if you intend to spoil your ballot, dont give me a go you may be pleasantly surprised.

TSR Labour

TSR Labour Manifesto

In an economy shattered by corporate greed and poor governance, the TSR Labour Party will act to create jobs, fully regulate our banks and restore public confidence in government. Unlike the real life Labour Party, we take pride in our socialist roots and will work for the people, not corporations.

A TSR Labour government understands the hardships facing families up and down the country, which is why we have acted to increase unemployment benefits for the 2 million people now relying on it. We have opposed £22 billion worth of spending cuts from the Tories and opposed plans from the TSR Socialists to give rich kids free meals.

We also:
• Drew up plans to eliminate costly car parking charges for hospital patients.
• Introduced a bill allowing vital drugs and flu vaccines to be manufactured cheaply for people who need them desperately.
• Passed a bill finally allowing gay people to marry, despite Socialist opposition.

TSR Labour believes in a society where every person has fair and equal access to high standards of healthcare, education and local government services. Regardless of background, everyone in a TSR Labour society is valuable and will be supported by the government.

If elected, we will:
• Introduce an economic recovery package to create jobs and increase consumer spending.
• Create a new badge parking scheme to allow those who are temporarily disabled to receive parking concessions.
• Re-asses the EMA system to ensure it is getting to everyone who needs it.

Vote TSR Labour – Putting People First!

TSR Liberal Democrat

TSR Liberal Democrats Manifesto

Liberal Democrats

This term we have pursued:
  • Returning our civil liberties.
  • Legalising cannabis.
  • A party structure that's cooperative and transparent.
  • The nationalisation of the railways.
  • Educational reform.
  • Real help for people affected by the recession.
  • Prison reform to reduce reoffending.

With your help we can:
  • End government waste and use the money to aid small business.
  • Put an end to the surveillance state to pay for real policing.
  • Assure affordable university for all.
  • Cut tax for the worst hit by the recession by closing tax loopholes used by the rich.
  • Bring forth a more liberal and free Britain by removing limits to free speech.

Only we have policy to help the economy without hurting the poor.
Its time for a party who can see problems in the economy before its too late.
It's time for something new.
Vote Lib Dem

Voting will last for 10 Days. please feel free to ask any questions to Parties regarding their manifestos.

please note a random order generator was used to determine the order in which the candidates would appear on the ballot.

Labour are still Socialist and they deliberately set out to impose more government control over people's lives. That is where their whole belief starts.

It starts with the power of government over the lives of the people.

That is the reason why they increase taxation—more power for them over our money, less power for the citizen.

That is why they multiply controls and bureaucracy—more power for them, less for the wealth creators of our country.

That is why they like nationalisation—more control over industry.

That is why they reject privatisation and wider share ownership.

That is why they want more council housing—because they want to have more control over the lives of the housing of the people and to use it for political purposes.

That is why they oppose our plans for giving your doctors and nurses, your teachers and parents, more say, more responsibility, more power to decide near the point at which the decision has to be taken.

That's why they oppose our plans for doing that in hospitals and in schools—they would rather have it decided by a bureaucratic level above.

That is the essence of their creed—government controls over the lives of the people—and it runs through all of their policies.

They haven't changed their Socialist spots. They've just changed their suits.

Vote Conservative

TSR Labour has been the victim of mistruths regarding the Water Bill. The Tories seem to think we wrote and the Socialists seem to think we voted against it. Both are mistaken.
