Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' threadYou still have to apply for a bursary, even if you know that your parents earn too much to qualify, so that the university and NHS know who to automatically pay fees for.(Original post by GeeCee)
I have firmed dietetics for 2012. They said all the places are fully funded. Do I still have to apply for the NHS bursary or are my fees automatically paid now that I have firmed. ?? -
Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' thread
I can't find any info about a Scottish nursing degree bursary being means tested. (or, in fact, any info about the means tested bursary). Can someone please link me to where they found out about this, or where I could read about it? Thanks

Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' threadYou will get a letter from the NHSBSA with your unique reference number and instructions on how to apply online. Don't apply before then, as the university needs to first inform the NHS of your offer.(Original post by Flyteryder)
I don't know where to start. I've firmed a place for Adult Nursing and I have no idea whatto do about the bursary. Can anyone help me?

Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' threadThe deadline for student finance is next week though, does the NHS bursary affect that? On the student finance application it says 'Have you accepted an NHS bursary', and I didn't want to put no in case they thought I didn't want one, so I haven't continued with that part of the student finance application.(Original post by PhoenixFortune)

Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' threadYou will be eligible for one, so if you are referring to the question I'm thinking of, then put 'Yes'. Student Finance and the NHSBSA are two different, unconnected companies, so they don't have the same deadlines.(Original post by Flyteryder)

I didn't even realise there was an application e you needed to make apart from the one to sas for the bursary! What's the student finance site you're applying to?
Sorry, I really don't have a clue about any of this! I wish there was a guide or something somewhere, lol -

Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' threadYou apply to SAAS for your loan, and the NHSBSA for your bursary (unless it's different in Scotland). You should get a letter about applying for the NHS bursary in due course.(Original post by rachiesy)

Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' thread
I'm trying to fill in my bursary application for but it is not accepting my bank account details. Do we have to have a UK bank account? I am Irish and I obviously haven't set up a UK account, as I am only going into first year at MMU in September and won't be moving to the UK until then.
Also, does anyone know what kind of documents I will need to send them? Because of the problem on the bank account page I can't go forward with the application. -

Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' threadIf it won't let you progress with your application, the best thing you can do is ring them up. Their advisors are really helpful and might be able to do something to help you move on with your application.(Original post by dapto1)

Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' thread
PhoenixFortune, thank you for your reply you've been very helpful once again.
I assume they are closed for the bank holiday tomorrow so looks like I won't be able to send the documents until Thursday morning at the earliest due to the time difference. Although given I think I am a "fees only" student I suppose it doesn't make a huge pile of difference if I don't quite make the deadline, as I don't get the bursary anyway! -

Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' threadI almost always send my application late, as my dad's P60 never arrives by my deadline, so I end up sending it about 10 days after my deadline, but that's never caused a problem.(Original post by dapto1)

Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' thread
I have just recently recieved by NHS Bursary email, but it says that the deadline to send this off is the 15th June. The problem is that I have a holiday from 5th - 12th July, so my passport will be needed. It says that I should not send my documents off if I need them within the next 4 weeks. Which is cutting it short. Just to clarify, the 15th June deadline is for the application, but not the documents? A brief explanation about my situation would be brilliant as I'm panicking a little!

Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' threadHave you sent off all documents to your University? Like passports, proof of address etc. And any health questionnaires? As soon as I sent all of these off, my NHS Bursary email came very soon after.(Original post by sarahp)
I haven't heard about my NHS bursary...should I be worried?? -
Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' threadI haven't been asked to send anything off to my uni....I might contact them..thanks(Original post by indipindi99)

Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' threadYou can send off your application without the documents, but they just won't process it until they receive them. They are very quick to process applications, so if you send off your documents the day after you get back, they should have assessed you by mid-August.(Original post by indipindi99)

Re: The offical 'OMFG I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT MY NHS BURSARY' threadIrish students aren't eligible for a NHS bursary, although NI students are, so I don't know where that leaves you! I would assume that you aren't eligible, unless you have received a letter telling you otherwise...(Original post by kathrynaye)
Has anyone had a problem with selecting the University of Ulster when specifying what University they will be attending, when making their bursary application via the Bursary Online Support System (BOSS)? Its not an option
