I feel this is a really silly statement to make.
As a working class boy i find myself discrimnated on a daily basis at college.
And even on this website with thigns beign said like "even if they're on drugs and mug people like me to feed their habit"

To the "lower" classes: do you feel that the OP is a stereotypical middle-class bigot?

How do you know the OP is middle class?
ITT: Champagne socialists.

YES! It isn't fair-particularly EMA and things like student finance. I lose out massively compared to a lot of my friends because my mum's income is above the threshold to get all the free money like EMA etc, yet she can't afford to support me as she is a single parent. My friends who do get all the extras take it for granted and talk about ways of exploiting the system to get even more money for free! REALLY irritates me, particularly as I have to work to survive and they get £30 a week for doing nothing, and often get handouts from their parents too!!

-sorry, rant over!

Yes, the working class generally gets more support from the government in terms of programmes and often benefits. The middle-class are more able to support themselves, so of course they don't get as much.
Everyone that I know that gets EMA spends on it on booze.

But I honestly have no hard feelings for working class people.

That might change when I have to pay tax, though. lol

EMA
Youth schemes which offer them stuff (but us middle class don't get) - by this i mean maybe stuff like free condoms, cos this stuff is aimed more at the lower classes.
They get a lot of backing (even if they're on drugs and mug people like me to feed their habit, women will just feel sorry for them and say "aww, thats not their fault, bless them")

why the hell should our taxes go towards people who spend their lives smoking weed and commiting crime, and generally not doing anything?
oh, and i forgot to mention all the stupid chav slags have to do is have a baby and they get a house.

WHY because someone is working class do they, in your opinion, "spend their lives smoking weed, committing crime and generally not doing anything"?
Don't rely on generalizations provided to you by the media. Poverty is a trap, a cycle that is almost impossible to break. Do you think ANYONE wants to spend their lives with no money, living in a council estate, not being able to provide for their children properly? All people want to better themselves, but it is extremely hard to do this when dealing with poverty and all the issues that come with it. As much support as possible should be given to working class students so they can break out of this cycle, and so they have the same and equal opportunities as middle class students.

And, as for people referring to the working class as the "lower classes", you seem to think because you have more money, you are a better person. Well judging by the replies from the majority of people to this thread, you clearly are not, just snobs and bigots.
I blame Human Rights.

Seriously... bring back death penalty, deport people, send them into the army etc!

Society would be so much better; we wouldn't have to pay as much to the lower class slums who burn all their benifits on such waste! Maybe then they'll get their arses in gear and do something about their lifes instead of wasting it.
the kinda things that piss me off are grants and stuff... loads of middle class kids don't get help going into uni from their parents... so end up with massive student loans, whilst people who's parents are on a lower income bracket get free money...
seems unfair? just give it to everyone! surely education is something we can all agree is worth putting more money into..
yes, yes, yes and yes, its so annoying, I mean I am glad that I do not come from a poor background but I mean c'mon why do the poor get everything?! At school I am one of the few who don't get EMA, loads get £30 a week plus at Christmas and easter or summer I don't remember which, actually it may be both - they get a further £100! It is really unfair - it should be all or none! All because our background is fairley wealthy it doesn't mean that our parents are going to fund us, parents do not legally have to do this anymore! We pay higher taxes and we don't see anything! The welfare state really needs restructuring. Also with EMA you get all the losers staying on so they dont have to get a job, or the school will run pointless btec programmes for the losers, also most of the losers are not even in school for 12 hours a week! and they still get ema, I am at school everyday for hours working hard and I get nothing. Oh well, I guess that capatilism for you lol!

btw - I am not saying that those getting ema are losers, I understand that some people do need it and that its a ladder to get onto further education but it just annoys me when i see people exploiting and abusing the system!

No offence meant, if any was caused.

I am upper class.

The OP supports Newcastle United, they cannot be middle class.

Does this mean me can end this thread and declare a winner?
"Lower classes" - what millennium are you living in?!?!

"Oh Columbine, the lower classes are revolting"
'Oh, don't I know Harlequin. They just don't know how to wash properly'
"It's ever so difficult to find staff from the servant classes who are suitable to serve that have not been defiled by the lower classes and their ilk. I blame the socialists."

Although my parents wages would probably be classed as 'middle class', I'm from more of a working class family. And yes, it's unfair that those who earn more get nothing..Some people really need benefits etc but they shouldn't be so easy to get for those who can actually get off their arses and work. It's the Labour government who prefer to help those who can't be arsed.
Yes, It almost makes me want to vote conservative.

-hopes democracy isn't reading this-

I feel us middle class are kind of ignored - just because we have more than the EMA we should automatically be fine and not need the government's help it seems
