Interior design?

Is it a fun course or is it really hard and boring??

This is entirely subjective. What may seem hard and boring for one person may be easy and fun for another. From the people I've met that have undergone interior (and spatial) design at university, it does focus primarily on how the actual 'space' is allocated in a building, almost like architecture (will be required to draw up detailed plans and produce miniature models). This will also include furniture and installation work. There's also an intellectual and contextual element, akin to most 'good' art and design courses.

I know the Chelsea College of Art and Design have an excellent interior and spatial design department, of which there is also an orientation program. This might provide a useful opportunity to have a taster of what the subject is about.

doesn't student finance cover the cost? x
Anyone know what portfolio requirements are for an Interior Design degree? I'm looking at Chelsea and Essex...any ideas?
