Is entropy amount of thermal energy which is not availiable to work
or is it systems tend toward disorder and loss of energy over time which in The Time Machine by HG Wells uses as the Eloi?

the first defines what entropy is, the second is really how entropy behaves (as t -> inf, S -> inf)

I think the fundamental definition of entropy is to do with the probability of finding a system in some microstate that corresponds to the given macrostate.
