Formal halling

A nice, pleasant group of four historians with impeccable table manners are feeling dismal failures after totting up their formal hall tally, so we would like to organise formal swaps for exam term merriment (we're from Trinity Hall, Sidney Sussex and Peterhouse). We're all lovely people, honest! :cheers:

i've been invited to the infamous girton formal this thursday. I would go but I have a damn outing that evening. CURSES, who knows how long before I'll get another chance to go there!

well thats ok... if i was limited to everyother week i might start developing a complex... there are 5 a week at Jesus i think *shrugs* and i plan to go to each college formal at least once.

I've only been to: Trinity, Clare, Queens', Caius(if you can call it that!), Downing and Jesus. Pretty feeble for 3 years!

Sleeping with them might be a bit unneeded, but I'm sure some won't mind!

You basically just have to know someone, I mean all the ones I've been to bar Trinity were through either friends of mine from school or the friends of a mate. Trinity was through someone my mate met on a field trip, he didn't want to come because it was exam term though, so my mate dressed up in a Trinity gown and became an imposter for the evening.

So basically, become a boatie, join a drinking soc or make friends. All the colleges is hard because of the mature and grad colleges! I know enough (rl) people that I could probably go to Catz, Churchill, Johns, Girton and Tit hall if I had the time and inclination anymore.

jesus looked quite nice actually! Id like to go to a st. johns hall though too- dont know why, it's just such a pretty collage, I could find a 'rah rah' person who would beg me to entertain them with my company at their formal hall!

I could make friends with History of Arters and beg them to swap course places with me...Or alternatively at a formal hall I could drug them, and them transform them into replicas of me and make them do SPS

There's only ~100 compscis per year and I certainly don't know them all. Actively avoid many :wink:

I just get stuck in the college thing too easily, most of the compscis I know other than Clare are all Tit Hall or Queens. I know a few from Jesus because they socialise with Queens a lot but apart from that I hardly know any. A few scattered around from the group project, but hardly anyone else.

No.

Someone once told me that it was actually forbidden, don't quite believe that, but just formal attire will suffice. We don't even have to wear a gown for our own in Clare!

Jesus formal has benches though, ick.

being a boatie my record is pretty crap due to things always getting cancelled and a curry resulting. Tally is: Emma, New Hall, Clare, Johns. Because I was silly I missed out adding Sydney Sussex, Caius and Jesus to that...why did I say I had to do work!? I'm gonna make sure I say yes unless I absolutely cant in future!
