Warwick Uni Accommodation - Jack Martin VS Arthur Vick VS Heronbank
    Hi,
Im about to apply for student accommodation for the first year and was a bit dissapointed to find that only one of my choices could be an ensuite. I have read alot about Arthur Vick being overly quiet which ordinarily wouldnt have been a problem but just how dull and quiet are the people there?
I know very little about Jack Martin and Heronbank, so any additional information about any of the 3 would be helpful.

You can find info and pics on the warwick accom website.

Let's put it this way- the people who end up there can't all be quiet and dull. Some people are self-conscious, shy or insecure and need their privacy for this reason. But many people who are in there are people who want to be left alone in peace in whatever way.

Jack Martin and Arthur Vick are not really known as the 'fun' residences... they are quieter, but if you're in with good people you could make it lively. Rootes and Tocil and Whitefields are sociable... but Whitefields is tiny buildings and Rootes is really long corridors- I like Tocil.

The ensuite accoms are HIGHLY wanted and not many people who put one on their list, get them to be honest... My friend was in Jack Martin, she liked it and her bathroom was quite nice, but it didn't seem very lively or fun and she agreed and always came to our accom.

To be honest, sharing a bathroom isn't as bad as it sounds, most of the accoms have decent bathrooms and cleaners clean the communcal areas in most, so you know it stays alright. I didn't even share with my own family- I had my own private ensuite bathroom at HOME even, so sharing one at Uni with strangers was not what I had planned- but it was actually not bad at all (I was in Tocil, 3 bathrooms in each flat, cleaners kept them decent). It gets people out their rooms more and is sociable, as is sharing a kitchen.

Plus, you have to share a bathroom with people in the 2nd and final year anyway, so you might as well get used to it :-)

ps Tocil was my first choice in the end, I didn't put an ensuite residence on as they were more costly and I liked that Tocil was by the gym. I was very happy with my choice, I even applied for it again for my final year (but got my 2nd choice this time round).
