Negative values for impulse?
I'm doing M1 questions (funnily enough) and alot of the time when doing questions on "The magnitude of impulse" I get negative results. The digits always match up with the mark scheme, but not the sign. Is the formula for impulse ALWAYS mv-mu or am I doing something horribly wrong? Or does the sign not matter, and can I just put my answer down as a positive integer instead? As always thanks in advance.
If it asks for the magnitude of impulse, then give the positive value (not necessarily an integer 
). Impulse is mv - mu, but often v and u are given as speeds rather than velocities, so choosing the positive/negative direction is arbitrary.
