You're supposed to, but I think that it can be done when you get there. This year for example, they did it at registration (which will be in week one). But I would advice that you do it asap (i.e now ) as the card is very important and waiting for yours to be made once you're at uni may be inconvenient as you will need it to access some buildings (e.g all libraries). So yeah, my advice would be to get it sorted before you arrive! Hope that helps

I did.
However, as some others said, no worries on what photo you upload, as long as it's square (1:1/420x420px).

I had a passport photo taken at some lousy photographer for BGP, but used a party photo for the student card. Just cropped it.

I did and promptly regretted it. I wish I chose a nicer, smilier one, but the one I sent will do... I suppose... for now... I'll probably regret it in Sept. when I get my card and I'm like "EWW OMG who's that FREAK?!"

I did all three, student finance, BGP accommodation and photo uploading, in the same week about 3 weeks ago.

I'm a control freak so I just needed to get everything done.
