a is correct. Weren't you given q already? to find k its q*t^2=k which I got to be 136.

both are correct

The question is;

q is inversely proportional to the square of t.

when t=4 q=8.5

a) find a formula for q in terms of t

I put; q=k/t^2 (is this correct?)

b) calculate the value of q when t=5

I put q=5.44 (is this correct?)

Please tell me if im right/wrong, if wrong please explain :wink:

The second part is right.

But for the first part, they expect you to input the values of 'q' and 't'. So you have:

k = 16 x 8.5

Which simplifies to give:

K = 136.

Therefore, the equation you write is:

Q=136t2 Q = \frac{136}{t^2}

That would be the answer to the first question.

Hope this helps (:

what you have for a is right so far but you also need to work out k so it would be
8.5* 16 = 136
so k is equal to 136
the formula would be q = 136/t^2
and your part b is right
i hope im right sorry if im not
