Mussolini A Level History.. Fascist Party popularity

I'm doing my Mussolini Quest for Greatness unit 4 exam on the 8th and I'm trying to go through a load of essay questions, but I cannot find anything to help me with 'Mussolini was always more popular than the Fascist Party in the years 1924-39' (argue).

Does anyone know anything AT ALL about this? I literally mean anything. I have not a clue where to start apart from the early years of the regime...:woo:
Hmm, you could talk about how the squadrismo wasn't to do with him at first, but he made sure he ruled them when he realised how powerful they were. About Facist National Party, uniting all the Facists and making sure he was leader. How the propoganda portrayed him as the Duce/Saviour/Caesar. That is a really tricky question though :s
Thanks for your help, I didn't actually think about the relationship between the squads and Mussolini, or the propaganda *oh dear need more revision*

I still don't think that the party was ever popular though after he came to power, maybe initially before it became a personal dictatroship :confused:
