I think all the parties are off campus and held in the city, from what I remember.

I think the UV rave is at the Den (on campus), the friday rave is in the freshers marquee, the wonderland party in derby hall (although I'm seeing Simon Bird that night so probably won't go). The only off campus party I'm considering going to is the End Of Week One party as thats supposed to be huge, and the Medics Celeb Party in October. Although when I actually get to uni, I'll see how I feel.

I'm not really a 'club' person. I love hall and house parties, with nice music to sing and dance too, but when I think of clubs all these images of sweat, claustrophobia and darkness spring to mind lol :o: So thats why the campus parties will be better for me, as I can easily go back to my room if I feel uncomfortable

When I think of clubs I think of a hall full of people I wouldn't socialise with, listening to music I would never listen to, drinking alcopops that I would never drink in a pub and paying an obscene amount for the priviliege. I'll do the end of week one party and maybe one or two of the others, but I'm not doing all of them. A cards night sounds good to me.

Awww thanks. A few of my old mates at Football used to call me Uncle Buck cos they said I looked like John Candy. A pork pie hat, hawaian shirt and a love of cigars may have contributed to that (along with being a long haired fatboy). You'll be pleased to know I'm now a short haired fatboy!!

It probably is nerves and once I get settled I'm sure I'll feel a little more peaceful and relaxed.

Lol I just saw that movie the other day aswell, it was a classic. I also liked him in Home Alone  Well I'm a short haired fatgirl whos been likened to the Honey Monster from the Sugar Puffs advert, so I'll think we'll get on well :p:

I'm starting to think Buck will be my new nickname, which is weird as I usually don't allow people to call me anything other that Imrana/Imy

Its totally normal to feel nervous Stunt, moving to uni is a big big change, and everyone deals with it in their own way. I don't think anyone has ever moved to uni and not felt nervous or scared! Allow yourself a few months to settle in, as its not going to be easy. Everyone is in the same boat so there will be plenty of people to chat to about it
I'm sure everyone's nervous in some way, even if they don't let on. David, the age gap isn't going to mean that much really. People from many different ages are going to be there and, at 22, it's not as if you're majorly older.

Buck, I only turned 18 in June, so I suppose I'll be the other baby. So, "fishcakes" is the codeword?!

Hey guys,

While I applaud the idea of a codeword, my something more subtle than "Fishcakes"?

I turned 19 in June, so i seem to be in the middle, which is nice.

I've just been out to buy essentials, like milk and supernoodles and wine and 365 teabags. Theres a chance i have too many clothes... but i'll just have to learn to live with that lol.

What sort of time people arriving?

Rutttlllland. I'm sorry I was mean to you. I don't even believe that rumour I heard about you taking something up the something (what nonsense :ninja:). So please don't throw eggs at me if you see me just because I live in Cripps. I am tall and I make an easy target so it's really not fair. It would be like hitting a guy with glasses, even though I am a girl and I don't wear glasses. Good luck for tomorrow!!!

I've got my ticket, so I'll be going too  Maybe I might sit with one of you 2 :ninja: I have a confession to make, I've never actually seen the Inbetweeners lol. I told a friend that Simon Bird was coming to my uni, and he was like 'ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!?!? GO FOR GODS SAKE!!!!' So thats why I'm going lol

I've been looking at the societies, and pretty much everything is catered for isn't it? Theres sooo much stuff going on with MedSoc so I'll definielty be joining that, but i also like the sound of Hide and Soc and Board Game Soc....yep, I'm a child lol :p:

I'm registering on Tuesday too, but at 9.15, so I should be able to make Cadbury Land as the buses leave at 11 don't they? I'm quite excited bout that trip lol, I've never been there before but have always wanted to. I decided against Alton Towers, sonce I've been there so many times already and would be worrying all week about finding someone to go on the rides with, and the weather. I'm a chronic worrier, as you will see when you meet me lol

ha i shall have to introduce you to the inbetweeners, its hilarious! yeah and im up for the board game soc and also sad as it may be the knitting soc. theres also a chocolate society!!

i have to registar at 2pm so cant go :frown:. went to cadbury land a few years ago and its quite gd fun, u get lots of free chocolate! yeah i havent bothered with alton towers as its expensive and yeah id be worrying bout finding ppl to go on rides with. i am also a chronic worrier so sounds like we're going to get along . i dont no anyone else going to inbetweeners so might end up emailing you asking to meet before hand...

not sure how to describe myself - ive got bob length hair and will prob be wearing jeans and a tshirt and i blabber/talk for england if that helps.
