2. How does Byron present his thoughts of youth and age in Cantos 1 to 4 of 'Don Juan'?

3. How does Byron present contrasting ideas of the natural world?

4. Explore the theme of transience and its presentation in Byron's 'Don Juan'.

5. What are Byron's attitudes to women in 'Don Juan' and how does he show these?

6. How is Byron's 'Don Juan' influenced by the time in which it was written?

7. Explore how Byron comments on other Romantic poets in 'Don Juan'.

8. To what extent is Byron's 'Don Juan' a typical epic poem?

9. Explore Byron's use of humour through the first four Cantos of 'Don Juan'.

Hopefully these will help some people needing help with revision for 'Don Juan'!

Do you mean "romantic" in question 10? A single capital makes a big difference, don't get confused!
Yes they look ok though, I reckon they cover all of your bases.

Yes I have worded 10 quite ambiguously, I shall rephrase it:

What elements in 'Don Juan' establish Byron as a Romantic poet?

Is that better? The question is aiming for a discussion of Romanticism, which means big context marks! Can you think of any others to add to the list?

oh dear lord. I'm seriously panicking.
I like Hamlet but as Hamlet and byron are in the same paper, byron is just going to drag me waaay down.

Can anyone tell me the MAIN themes?

Transience - easy! Here are the main points that Byron does on transience:

Transience of the hero:
'I want a hero, an uncommon want / When every year and month sends forth a new one'

Transience of gossip:
'The nine days' wonder' (i.e. only lasted nine days!)

Transience of love:
'They took by force from Juan Julia's letter' (symbolic of the ending of their relationship so to speak)

Transience of life:
'A little breath, love, wine, ambition, fame, / Fighting, devotion, dust' (can see Byron showing aspects of his life in this quote, but ultimately we all up as 'dust')

Transience of beatury:
'Nature ... it will destroy the face'

It's not a major theme, but it could easily come up as part of another question. Hope this helps!

that's really helpful thanks

I'm just really worried that two obscure questions are going to come up and I will just be completly lost some of the themes such as politics and byron's views on the sea are so obscure!

Does anyone have any more quick notes they could share? Like how typical an epic it is, for example? And contrasting ideas of the natural world? I've had barely any time to revise - arrrgh!
