i reckon 62/63 for an A this year.
nah i reckon we could be looking lower (hopefully)...more like 59/60 due to the last 2 parts of question 8

    that's what I hope at least :eek3:

For a "normal paper" you could expect anything between 63 to 66 for an A.

A slightly harder paper would probably be only be 61/62 at most. It's almost never lower if you look at all the exminer's reports.

I've worked through the paper, see if you agree!
From what I can remember, i agree with a lot of it and theres nothing that i disagree with. So i guess the space in between is my maximum of lost marks.

Although I know that I messed up on the 'statistic' definition type questions. Got c right but my answers to a and b are vague to non-existant.

    You know for question 3, isn't x(bar) (i) not a statistic?

meh the M1 I did in Jan had 49 as the A boundary but this exam was not as much of a bitch as that one

still, I can live in hope eh? albeit false hope

it is a statistic, because its the sample mean, which can be calculated... as opposed to the population mean, which can't

X bar is a statistic, as xbar is a sample parameter, the unknown was the population parameter (mew?)sp

but it isnt taken from a population. and in the question they told you mu and sigma were unknown.

The last last profit question was easy (£216) but the the rest of that question and the previous question where quite ****** up. I got E(X) as 1 for part 7a and I couldn't even work out a and b for I think 7b (? ax, b-ax)

You had to work it out using the area of the triangle. They put it in the question as a clue I guess.
