Maths working out in pencil but final answer in pen???

My friend did his Edexcel Maths paper ysterday and completed his working out in pencil but wrote his final answer in pen.....

will marks be taken off or what:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

I would've thought that all marks would be given if the correct answer is shown.

If he has the wrong answer and they can't see any marking then they wouldn't be able to award any marks.

I'm not sure about it being in pencil though...

I don't think the scanner will pick up his working so i don't know if he'll get any method marks :s
I done that as well but then I went over all of my working out in pen etc
But then I realised that at the front of the paper they tell you to do ALL writing in pen and ONLY diagrams in pencil.
All examination papers are scanned, if they can see the pencil marks for diagrams surely they can see if for your friends working out too? It depends on the examiner really.
He'll get the marks for the final answer, but most marks are awared to the working out.
Its not looking great for him, but you never know.
He might still get the marks.

your pencil has to be dark like a HB then it is okay if lower then you are pretty much screwwed. i wrote in pencil for the last q but still got it wrong
