Hey there just looking for some advice, please keep anon,

So i am chatting to this guy online through a dating site, although he seems quite normal, some alarm bells are ringing and im just wondering am i overreacting.

We have been talking for a few months, nothing really major but he hasnt even asked for my photo and has given me his mobile number. normally within the first few conversations, i usually find most people trying to see what i look like as i have no profile pic up.

He lives quite close to where i go to uni, and he asked me do i know this girl in my uni, he had asked a girl (his friend) to ask the girl who goes to the same uni does she know me? we havent even talked about meeting up yet, so this i think is really strange?

but yeah, i dont know why but i stupidly asked does he have facebook? he writes back saying he has and did i want to add him and he will tell me his full name. So now, im wondering is it really a safe option to add him, i really dont know if i even am ready to be in a relationship at this time, and i dont necessarily wont him even finding out my last name! i dont really have any pics so not really worried about that,

do you think im overreacting, or do you think there is something fishy about him? maybe he just doesnt really talk to much girls and is just abit over enthusiastic?

oh sorry just like the whole he can see more of my information and stuff, yo dont think that he hasn't asked what i looked like and him asking a friend what im like a bit strange too? thanks for the reply

You're the one who asked if he had facebook, he's being pretty trusting by asking if you want to add him. Nothing you said about him is ringing any alarm bells in my head. Are your instincts usually right? If you're not sure you could always put it off, better safe than sorry.

One great thing about Facebook is that you can lock it down right down to an individual. Go to settings -> Privacy settings and you will be able to type in the guys name and just stop him from viewing what you don't want him too. Then once you've snooped around his profile and found out if he's an axe murderer or not, unlock or delete him!
