what is a good, simple definition for Ka and pKa for acids? I understand how to use them and I know what Ka is, however, if a question was to ask 'explain what is Ka / pKa' I wouldnt know where to begin!
any help greatly appreciated x

Ka is the acid equilibrium constant. It is defined by the relationship:

Ka = [H+][A-]/[HA] for a weak monoprotic acid.

pKa is defined as the negative logarithm of Ka
