Re: The Tier 4 applicants chat thread and FAQ *read the first post*Ahh right lol, lucky(Original post by araidontworry)
Oh I'm in a kinda different situation.. I am re-applying with my last year grades so I guess I should be able to start my application. But to get an unconditional offer i need to hand in ATAS application cert to the university... Ahh not sure what I should do -.-
I just switched to BEng. Otherwise I would've missed two or three weeks of uni. So I'm only doing a bachelors degree for now, and if I want to do a masters later, then I'll just apply for a visa extension and do all the paperwork from the UK, much easier. But as for you, it seems like you'll be going round in circles, they want your ATAS certificate to give you an unconditional, but to get the ATAS you need an unconditional
I've heard that getting a BEng, and then a separate Masters degree, is more internationally recognised than an MEng course. Even though they lead to the same qualifications basically. Either way, you need to email your university asking them exactly what to do, Imperial wanted me to hand in my certificate by the 24th August, so I guess you have plenty of time, but they DO take a while to get back to you so don't delay
Best of Luck

I'd like to know that does it only have to be my parents or could it be anyone else as long as they're my relative when it comes to showing that they have enough money in their bank account for my tuition and living cost for one year?
-
Re: The Tier 4 applicants chat thread and FAQ *read the first post*It has to be your own account or your parents' account or legal guardian's account.(Original post by parth92)

The easiest option would be to have money in your own account, if you have one.
If it's your parents' account, you need a birth certificate to prove that they are your parents (with an official translation if it's not in English), you also need a signed letter from your parents to confirm their relationship to you and show that they are allowing you to use their account.
If it's a legal guardian's account, you need official court papers to show that they are indeed your legal guardian.
This link should help answer any other questions you may have. Good luck

Re: The Tier 4 Visa Questions Thread!Hi Mike,(Original post by Mike B)
Hi,
Does anybody know what "Tier 4 (Scholarship) Student" means in the online form?
I receive an Erasmus Mundus scholarship and don't know what to choose "Tier 4 (General) Student" or Tier 4 (Scholarship) Student". Because there's simply no information on "Tier 4 (Scholarship)" and other students who applied in previous year chose "General" simply because there were no "Scholarship" option.
Also, I still have to fill the appendix form that is called "Tier 4 (General) Student".
I am facing the same problem as well... have you had any responses yet? Could you please let me know in case you have? I have tried contacting the UKBA office but haven't received a reply yet.
Thanks and cheers,
Titu -

OKAY i have done some thing very stupid. I withdrawn the money from my local bank account to put it in an HSBC account to use it there in UK. should I re-crdit my local bank account so they accept it. My bank statement will be then like this .. $$$$ then all withdrawn then I credit it again.. but the money was there for about three years because it's my current account ..
would they reject my visa because the money just credited to it? -
Re: The Tier 4 applicants chat thread and FAQ *read the first post*check the visa guidance but i think you can get a statement up until the point you withdrew the money as long as it's within 30 days of your application.(Original post by kadeeeja)

Hi guys i need a quick reply! The money in your back account, does it have to be shown in pounds or is it okay if its in your national currency and they'll do the conversion when they check the application? -

what is the cost of living for a master degree student (one year) outside london, in the visa website it's 9,600 and 7,200 ,, which one is correct?
-
Re: The Tier 4 applicants chat thread and FAQ *read the first post*£7,200 is the amount that you need to provide evidence of if the length of your course is longer than 9 months. You are only showing enough for 9 months on your application, which is why it's £7,200 (9 x £800) rather than £9,600 (12 x £800).(Original post by phoenix-)
