I am, got an induction day and a half on 1st/2nd of July and I can't wait. One of the good things about going to a selective sixth form is there will be barely any chavs. There's probably only 4/5 people I'm really going to miss but some of my friends are going as well so it's all good.

How selective is it? Ours is a state selective and we have plenty of chavs But they all tend to take similar sort of classes so if you take sciences or languages they probably won't be there that much. And many of ours are leaving this year

I'm sure you'll enjoy it lots, sixth form is so much better than school, but a lot harder sadly

It's fairly selective, I read in the prospectus that most successful applicants had 6A+ at GCSE and as far as I know none of the chavs at my current school are even close to getting that. Even if there are a lot of chavs I'm staying away from the softer subjects so there most likely won't be doing the same subjects.

Ahh that's a lot more selective than my school's one haha. Nice choice of politics btw, very good subject

Yes! - good riddance to GCSE's and their imperfections.
There's an induction day on the 24th June, and because I'm joining the International Baccalaureate, on the 25th, they are taking us up to London to see the Globe Theatre, Tate Modern and then to see 'Avenue Q' o.o? I feel very fortunate to be joining such a nice school following on from a low-standard, apathetic state one!
But really, I hope we all never have to see a GCSE paper for many years - and by the time our children are taking exams, hope they've standardised them to iGCSE's!

I'm staying on at my school's sixth form, and the induction days are on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of June.

Looking forward to it!

Yeah, starting IB too. At a state city centre college, though, so no flashy trips to London for us. Still though, looks a hell of a lot better all round than my current school, and I'm totally sold on the IB course, looks like more work but completely worth it without a doubt. Can't wait

*high five*
Btw, www.ibsurvival.com is a fantastic forum, unless you know about it already.
We'll have a wail of a time, so long as we manage our time well enough!
Good luck to thee!

- I had to pay £50 for the trip =/

Lol, there used to be a way better forum, ibscrewed.net, but now it's been hijacked by spammers.... I'm not too familiar with the other one though, thanks. Yeah, it totally seems to be time management and not wasting that first year. I'm not worried English, Maths, History HL, French, Spanish ab and Chem SL, personally. All round exactly what I want to be doing, other than I wish I had chance for economics. No big deal though. I just want something that's entirely fresh, interesting and new, that's what I'm hoping to get from IB

Nice choices I went for Maths, Chem, Physics HL; History, French, English SL.
Definitely! And a lifestyle that lasts, too.
It's really funny reading the "You know you're in IB when..." threads, if you have a chance xD
