Hopefully someone can help me...?

Hopefully this is the right place but im taking a science course at my sixth form and been given a assignment to do on drug companies and their fundings.
Cannot find anything anywhere about it, any evidence to use, coz we have to use the havard system of reference.
Question is where do drug companies get their fundings?
I know that the governement fund some of it but obviously not all of it, any body know outside groups or private socities that fund it, and what they want back from it?
