They could care less about your grades. Mcdonalds has a high employee turnover rate, they realise very well that you're not looking for a long term career there so they wouldn't really care about how long you're staying for. The only reason they'd not take you on is if they've already got enough staff or don't like your personality. My mcdonalds at least has had some choice characters working there so i'm not even all that sure if personality is so important.

Did you get rejected after going to the interview or did they just tell you they didn't want you from an online application? I've applied online and haven't heard anything from them other than getting an email saying they'd recieved my application lol.

They don't reject people who are 'too clever'. My friend with 14 A*s at GCSE who is going to do history at Cambridge next year works there and I doubt anyone here is cleverer than him .

lol this was my response:

Dear (For the purposes of this - MrX) ,

Thanks for applying for the position of Crew Member.

We’ve got a rigorous selection process at McDonald’s and on this occasion, after careful consideration, we’re sorry to inform you that we will not be inviting you to attend the next stage of the recruitment process.

It’s part of our policy that we don’t give out specific reasons why an individual has not been successful, but we thank you for your interest and wish you every success in the future.

Kind regards,

McDonald’s Recruitment Team

I doubt it is THAT careful though, to be honest. Either a computer app using scores or somebody quickly glancing over with a sheet of "correct" answers for the personality test.

To those that are a bit disheartened, the sooner you get used to it in life, the better.

Somewhere like McDonalds is far from the typical example, but with each rejection you get, you try and build from it and improve upon the next application interview. Anyone trying to get a job in IB this year will tell you it was complete hell, and it's the same in many industries, but the principle is the same, you learn from your mistakes.
