Re: McDonalds Application concerns? (EDIT: and McDonalds Rejection Thread!)
I got rejected a few times and it is so fustrating. I also keep changng my application form and personality question responses and I get rejected within a few days. I really need a job and having applied to voer 30 jobs in different companies I am now feeling hopless
Re: McDonalds Application concerns? (EDIT: and McDonalds Rejection Thread!)
I've got an interview at McDonalds this Sunday (bit unusual but nevermind). My biggest problem is the dress code - since I'm told it's short/threequarterlength sleeves but one of my arms is covered with pretty noticable hypertrophic scars from a miserable spell when I was younger - is it possible to insist on wearing long sleeves without bringing too much hassle, or should I just give up on the job? I've not got much of a problem with having them in public - but generally as soon as employers seen them they write me off as a whackjob and I'm out of the door.

Why would you give up on a job because of your scarring. That is ridiculous because it doesn't impede you! (I'm sorry to sound blunt but I feel it has to be said).
If it really bothers you then say something but I personally would wear long sleeves to the interview, not mention it and then, if you get the job and are assigned uniform, ask then about an option for your arms.
Re: McDonalds Application concerns? (EDIT: and McDonalds Rejection Thread!)
It's genuinely not a problem for me, just a hangover from my more miserable days; but I have had the situation where employers have caught a glimpse, or I've had to wear short sleeves for some reason and I'm invariably kicked out on my arse by the end of the week.
It's not so much giving up on the job as finding out if it's worth going through the hassle of the interview process etc, cos if I get the job then they fire me for my arms seems a bit daft to spend all that bus fare.
Re: McDonalds Application concerns? (EDIT: and McDonalds Rejection Thread!)
I've had 4 rejections for 4 different positions over the past week, one of them was set at "considering" for around 5 days, and then today I got an email to say it was finally rejected. What a great start to a Sunday afternoon!
Rejection from McDonalds?! Oh the shame! It's so much harder than people would assume. "Ewwwww, McDonalds" *rollseyes*

I've never even applied, but from reading it is hard and most people are over-qualified.
I can imaging the majority of people would laugh at being rejected from McD's, considering what the nation's view on them is.
Re: McDonalds Application concerns? (EDIT: and McDonalds Rejection Thread!)
Being rejected without interview is only ever going to happen if you're a criminal or they've got no vacancies. So would people stop making such a ******* fuss. In a recession, obviously they're not going to have many jobs going, so if you don't get called up, don't take it to heart or think "it's because i'm over qualified" or something equally misguided because you're not. They literally take anyone, but they were probably full when you applied.

If you look on their website there are jobs advertised though - that's where the rejections are coming from.
Re: McDonalds Application concerns? (EDIT: and McDonalds Rejection Thread!)
I agree with the people on here who say "it's not that your overqualified, etc.". Perfect example: me. I applied for McDs in Reading near my uni and got the OJE evaluation interview, however when I got there they said they hadn't read the application forms yet and so it was a very brief interview that took 30 seconds (really basic questions which I thought I answered well). Anyways, long story short I got rejected (and all my friends gunned me for it the rest of the year). I get back home for the holidays and apply again in London (one really close to me), got the interview (a PROPER one, which I smashed), and got just got the job today!! It's the luck of the draw I guess - depends on where you apply.
Re: McDonalds Application concerns? (EDIT: and McDonalds Rejection Thread!)
I've got an interview next week. Anyone got any advice, experiences to share? I'm not sure what to wear exactly as it says dark trousers but doesn't mention tops. Obviously I don't want to be too formal because there's a practial part to the interview, so would wearing a t shirt and cardigan be ok? Or not?

Ive worked for McD twice in the past and I have always wore jeans and t shirt for interview, it is very informal. Also something else to note, they will not make you do the 'on job evaluation', they never do (just an interview).
BTW I got my third job at McD today, I can't understand why so many of you have not managed to get a job there.
Re: McDonalds Application concerns? (EDIT: and McDonalds Rejection Thread!)
got rejected from one yesterday, and am waiting on another one which is only down the road from me, so I'm hoping to get it, its been a week since I applied though, not sure if thats a good or bad thing
Re: McDonalds Application concerns? (EDIT: and McDonalds Rejection Thread!)
Hi everyone, I need some advice on my application because I have applied for a full time position at my local branch in McDonalds. Will they reject me??????I know its a bit too late now, but what would I need to get the job????????????
Re: McDonalds Application concerns? (EDIT: and McDonalds Rejection Thread!)
On the website where you can check the status, this morning it has changed to 'closed'....does this mean I haven't got an interview, and they didn't even bother to tell me I've been rejected (because I thought they always do)...or just that its 'closed' to any more applicants as they are now considering the ones they have?
Re: McDonalds Application concerns? (EDIT: and McDonalds Rejection Thread!)
I submitted another application on the 28th of June and it is still on application received! At least they had the decency to reject me within 2 days on my other app!!
