Thought I was coming down with something so I slept for 12 straight hours and feel much better now. I still miss my dog though :frown:

Caused by all the fun your are having in freshers week.

I've already got a sore throat and the sniffles despite not drinking, attending any sort of lecture etc. Hoping to nip it in the bud with medicine now so it has gone by next week.

I feel better now I'm enrolled although I think I'm enrolled on the wrong course :/

Oooh don't forgot freshers the wonders of the fresher flu, although, admittedly, second and third years aren't immune to it either. :o:

*shakes fist angrily*

Urghhhh so true :frown: I'm getting it now :frown: Hopefully not as bad as last year since as soon as it was going I got tonsilitis, then when that was going some other virus...then basically I just kept getting virus after virus for months cos my immune system wasn't so fab :|

Ughh yeah, I've already got this awful chesty cough and sore throat despite my 'adventures' so far this week being considerably tame!

Saying that, some other people in my flat were complaining of colds a couple of days ago. It's spreading already!

Damn I couldn't sign up to one of my minors because they had gone and packed up at 5. Stupid major department taking ages. :grumble:

Don't feel boring. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be able to sleep. Yes it is freshers week but there are lots of important things to be done during the day so needing sleep is understandable.

I am facing into the circle this year - unlike last year which was fantastic in comparison - and it is madness just below my window. Huge groups of very drunk freshers yelling, singing, chanting and generally messing about. Has been going on till around 4am every night so far so I am getting more and more sleepy. Just hoping they calm down next week or I might start throwing things at them from my window is anger lol! That or I will be investing in some earplugs...
Hey!
Just wondering about societies. Last year, I only joined the Hist Soc and I went to quite a few things there but wanted to try something different this year.
I am really keen on the Foreign Film Soc as I like foreign language films and it seems like a really good deal - £3 membership and free weekly film screenings.
Anyway, just wondering about a few others. For example, does anyone have experience of the Hiking Soc - do you have to have specialised equipment etc? And, what is the Feminist Soc like?
What sort of things will you be signing up for tomorrow?

LUVU are great so I am sure you will enjoy that. I am signed up with them as a volunteer - last year I did a placement as a classroom assistant so intend on doing the same this but with a different year group. It was actually my favourite day of the week when I did it in Lent term lol.

In the end I didn't sign up for anything as the one society I wanted I couldn't find. A friend has just got back and she said she didn't see their table either so it must be not there or minimalistic in terms of notices for us both to miss it. I might pop along to one of their meetings though and sign up then. I also fancy the Ballroom Soc but they are running free lessons next week so I want to try it out first just incase I am really bad!

What's the teacher training this with CEEC?

Its a 2 day course they hold where you get taught and practice teaching. They havent set the dates yet, but go down there and ask and they will take your email. It sounds great!
I think its called introduction to teaching

As far as I'm aware, all you need for hiking is decent footwear. Walking boots being the optimal solution.

The foreign film soc were in the small room (not the great hall - i don't really know what it is:s) against the back wall. They didn't have any posters or anything so it wasn't very obvious they were there at all! I don't know if they'll be there tomorrow. I'm not really sure what's going on tomorrow though!

I missed the societies thing today, might still sign up for some though if I can, not sure. I'm thinking maybe Paintballing, possibly MMA and maybe freefalling. Freefalling is a bit iffy since I've got the fear of heights big time, but I reckon it'd be amazing. that Foreign film one is something I'm not sure about. I love loads of foreign films, but I can just watch them on my computer since I've got most of the ones they're showing.

I might go to that halloween all nighter thing that the cinema are doing though. Not sure what films are on apart from [Rec], but it's worth it just for that.
