Could people post the advantages and disadvantages/ethical concerns with this process. Thankyou.

Advantages:
People who would die live
Treatment (e.g. dialysis) can be stopped which: reduces economic strain on the NHS long-term; and reduces strain on the family and friends, as well as the sufferer, e.g. travelling to the hospital and back several times a week

Disadvantages:
Problems with rejection can trigger anaphylactic (sp?) shock and so death
Expensive short-term
Not enough organs for transplant

Ethical:
Is it OK to take organs without consent from dead people if it saves lives?
Is it right to play god?
Stem cell problems - growing organs etc. if you're still short on material, and advantages, e.g. no problems with rejection.

All I can think of off the top of my head, hope it helps,

It can not. There is a difference between anaphylaxia and rejection of a transplanted organ. However rejection can be fatal (it not always is as can be stopped with medication in some cases and if you reject a kidney you do not die but simply go back to square one ie dialysis).
