It was too much of a Heathers rip off (it would've been a Mean Girls rip-off if it wasn't for the gun scene).

Skin relies on its characters though. I like Frankie and the two stoner guys... the rest are kinda non-characters at the moment. Hopefully they'll be fleshed out later on. ANYONE is more interesting than series 3 & 4 though, they were dire. To be honest, I watched 2 episodes of series 3 and then didn't watched the rest of series 3 & 4, so Skins is kinda fresh to me again.

I started watching those, then heard everyone going on about series 1 and 2.....starting watching it, actually couldn't, biggest load of crap ever. I think the 2 series were so different people only liked 1 or the other. Oh well, this one definitely looks interesting.

Before skins was about the group as a whole, and they were all really close. But it seems now that they focus on the individuals and they don't really feel like a gang.

ALSO, in 1,2 and 3 it made you want to be part of their group, with the parties and the 'crazy antics' (the pepper episode! ) and most of all it was FUNNY! But now it's practically kids walking round slitting their wrists...

What a pathetic show this has become. The first series was brilliant television, absolutely gripping stuff.

Five series later and they're just throwing drugs into the first 15 minutes with no explanation or follow up on it.

Then she has a gun.

Then an asian dude finds her attractive, maybe this could be a good storyli- oh no wait he's gone again.

Then no one really likes Annie (WHO DIDN'T ****ING SEE THAT COMING?!)

And it all ends with a nice kidnapping followed by a swim in a beautiful pool housed in what can only be described as a shed...

Jesus, Skins writers got lazy as **** these series.

If the first episode is representative of the new series, they've clearly cranked up the weirdness factor to desensitizing levels, presumably as a cloak for the unconvincing and lazy storyline and dialogue.
