Retail experience - do I have it + other question

Yeh basically, dunno if you've seen my other thread, but I am leaving Manchester in a few weeks to head home for various reasons. I worked for a large UK chain that is a clothing store, as a retail assitant but only for two months i.e. April till now.

When I go home, I want to look for work in retail again, just to get money, in a shop like GAP/Topshop/Zara. Would my two months of retail experience be okay or not enough? I know Selfridges asks for 6 months (but I guess Topshop isn't really on par with Selfridges...).

One last question - do shops discriminate on where you live? I have a car and a full clean drivers license so can drive myself to work... but the nearest town with those shops is about 40 minutes by car.

Yes you have experience, but when you give them your CV they will know its only a couple of months.

Some shops might discriminate on where you live, some might not. Depends on the company and the individual people hiring.
