Default What did YOU learn from study leave?

I haven't seen anything like this around the forums, though I'm not entirely sure whether something like this has been done before, but I thought it would interesting and rewarding for those who are involved. (If there is something similar, feel free to delete. Sorry if so.)

The question is: what have you learn from your study leave/revision period and what do you think you will and won't do? Is there anything that seemed relatively useless, and didn't benefit you, or is there something that you know you need to work on to improve you exam prep?

Personally, something that seemed to become useless while I was revising were sticky notes. After countless recommendations as to how 'good' these were, I found that constant reading of these (after revising the facts themselves) actually contributed very little. Instead I replaced them with revision cards, writing questions so that I was able to answer each one (and these seemed considerably more beneficial, and hopefully were).

Also, something that I'm going to improve for next year is that I will plan my revision in considerable advance. I've learnt, and will, hopefully, be able to apply it in Year 13, results permitting, that it is never too early to start revision.

Note: this applies to AS and A2 students; everyone can post here.

Not to put two DVDs into a DVD player at the same time ... doesn't work

And my friend learned to use lube before attempting marathon masturbation sessions, if you wish to avoid chaffing ...

Study leave is such a joke. I wasted about 70% of my time watching DVDs. School would have been better, at least you'd be forced to do some work.

The ammount of work i did during my GCSE study leave versus the ammount of work i did in class was crazy. I'd start at about 9am and finish about 2 or 3pm. I think because i was easily distracted by friends at school, self learning really did help me and i was very supprised how much i learnt. You have to structure your time very well, i rember my ex girlfriend was crazy about timetabling, she had little blocks for when she would see me and when she would watch tv lol... i was right after her french block

I didn't have a study period, but my study style (semantic), revision and how to stay awake (i.e. herbal teas, reckless for sleepless nights =P )... Starting revision earlier and a normal sleeping pattern?

That I actually really like him, I miss him, he's a dick and he confuses me.

Also that I really need to stop wasting precious revision time by worrying about stupid issues UNTIL exams are over

I learned that study leave means studying! Not a leave.

All i ever did was sleep till late, say i'll do revision but end up not doing it and then having sleepless nights.

That no matter how many times I'll say "I'll have another 5 minutes before I start" it will always turn into 2 hours and another toastie.

And that I now have an impeccable knowledge of various subjects from Wikipedia instead of anything relevant to my exams

Wikipedia is such a distraction. I learnt the history of Cuba while revising for Classics.

On topic; I learnt it is perfectly possible to eat an entire packet of chocolate digestives in around two hours. And that this does not help to inspire sensible revision
