Have you ever wondered how silly it sounds if someone said ala Moss: "Oh I am a giddy goat"?

Thought not.
yeah and like when you:

call someone a tosser, when they aren't masturbating
call someone a **** or ****, when they aren't a vagina
call someone an asshole when they are in fact not an anus
etc.
You should just stop being so anal! It's just a saying that has developed meanings outside of its original one.

Unless you're a really rude person OP I bet you say 'bless you' when someone sneezes; it doesn't literally mean you're trying to ward the plague off them does it?!?! Just because a phrase was once only used for one thing doesn't mean it stayed that way.
