Hey Cantabs,

My friend who studies the Mathematical Tripos just finished part 1A, with not so spectacular result of "Allowance to Ordinary B.A."

What does this all mean? Can she still get honours at the end of it all? what are her possible options?

thank you.

Get out your student handbook of University regulations and look it up. It varies from degree to degree what you need to get in order to get a degree at the end, but the info is all in there.

are these regulations available online anywhere?

An Ordinary in maths means you can't carry on. Happened to a friend of mine last year.
